Richard J Hannah
In a much storied life todate, he’s been a soldier, lawyer, special adviser to government, and Executive Consultant to some of the world's largest businesses. He’s lived and worked in over a dozen countries. Witty, intelligent, outspken on health policy, and mental health, Richard is that rare breed—a popular radio presenter who thinks like a strategist and feels like a frontline Carer.
Today, he still consults, despite aprolonged period of poor health. He has stepped back but not stepped away. An ostomate and prostate cancer survivor, he advocates fiercely for both causes. He serves as a trustee for a policy think tank and as an ambassador for a mental health charity—work rooted in the deepest grief a parent can know. In 2022, he lost his son to suicide.
He didn’t retreat. He turned the microphone toward the silence. Richard connects what doesn’t usually connect: the discipline of the military with the vision of of a creative, the logic of a strategist with the raw compassion of a father who has sat in the dark. He is not a man who has simply done many things. He is a man who brings the wisdom of every chapter—especially the hardest one—to the next. That’s what makes him one of the most unique and compassionate voices in media today. Broadcast East is glad he is in the team.
